Radiolab - memory & identity...

Here's the link to Radiolab, a National Public Radio broadcast that's totally amazing. The website is a touch confusing, but look to the right and you'll see a frame with an audio player. Scroll through the options till you find "Who Am I?" and "Memory & Forgetting."

Each show is an hour long, and they each complicate our understanding of identity & memory - incredible useful thinking!

cmyk & rgb color in action!

Hey gang!

I've just heard that color has gotten goofy when jpgs are posted, so I wanted to illustrate it here for you, and suggest a solution.

If you used CMYK color to create your work, and you post the jpg and it looks like this goofy blue image on the left, then you have some more work to do!

You can switch the color mode to correct it. Go to the File menu, then find Document Color Mode (way at the bottom of the list) and change it to RGB. Then you need to File, Export, as a jpg again, and load that puppy! Sorry for the difficulty!

It should look like this improved image on the right.

ahoy there!

this semester we're trying something new. you guys are being asked to create a blogger.com blog, and to post every project that you work on. i've created a student list, so that every blog links to every single student - you can see it labeled "fall illustrator artists" on the nav bar to the right.

this will let all of you see all the work of everybody else. yow!

the upshot here is that you can see other solutions to similar projects, you can ask each other technical questions based on what you see, and you can share ideas to solve common problems.

when you complete a project, and we finish up your crit, not only do you need to submit your project to me for grading, but you need to upload a jpg version to your blog. you won't receive a grade until you've completed both requirements. when you post your jpg, you also need to jot down a short statement explaining your thoughts, approach, and reaction to that project.

i ask that your comments & posts be cruelty free and kind. be critical & honest, but not mean spirited.
